There are few sights as enchanting and exciting as laser beams piercing the air, ricocheting off mirrors, and cascading through an audience adding a "wow" factor that cannot be matched by any other lighting source. This is not like watching video or film--the intense colour and contrast of lasers, combined with the unique glittering qualities of the light, transport viewers to another world.
Adding to the appeal of laser shows is their versatility--they are not confined to any single type of venue. Laser displays have entertained crowds in huge outdoor settings, dazzled potential customers in trade show exhibits, and thrilled audiences in planetariums, nightclubs and theme parks.
Using tiny moving mirrors mounted on a device called galvonometer, a single beam of laser light can be moved so fast the human eye no longer sees the individual beam. Instead, the audience sees fans, cones, tunnels or cascades of beams that fill the air. Specialized optics (diffraction gratings) can create spectacular sheets of light by splitting one beam into hundreds of individual shafts of light. Bounce mirrors can ricochet beams throughout a venue. Realistic wire-frame images can be projected onto walls, buildings and custom screens such as water screens and fog screens.
